Polycom Lowers the Bar on HD Videoconferencing
Polycom has announced that it will support H.264 video compression technology to reduce the bandwidth requirements for videoconferencing and unified communication technologies by up to 50 percent.
The most likely users will be distance workers and remote offices, situations in which bandwidth has been at a premium. Small businesses also may be tempted to get into videoconferencing if they see bandwidth demands significantly reduced.
